LIDLIPS Cover Candidates 091020

Red Cover #1

Thanks to the encouragement of so many PixSylarians, I’m very pleased to announce that my collection of the first hundred ‘Lessons I Didn’t Learn In Photo School‘ will be published as a book just in time for the holidays. It will be a 220-page paperback with one LIDLIPS per spread. Each page opposite will present a question or two about how you relate to that LIDLIPS and have a journal-style space for you to pen your own thoughts. Amazon will have LIDLIPS for sure. You’ll also be able to order autographed copies via PixSylated.

Cast your vote for your favorite LIDLIPS cover concept. In case you’re willing to judge a book by it’s cover, you have eight to choose from. There are four main cover treatments and an alternate for each. Vote for your favorite(s) and add any relevant design suggestions via the Comments section below.

If I have to vote for these options then it’s #3.

But this is sorta like Facebook… I’d really prefer a “dislike” option for all of them (c: The options presented just don’t fit the character and style of your posts.

I like #8 best. The design isn’t too busy nor difficult to read.

Definitely #1 – arresting, simple, direct. Very elegant. You need the camera to make the transition from traditional to existential.

Choose door number 5…er, I mean Alt #5.

My vote is for White cover #3.

    #1 is too 1980’s
    #2 has too much red
    #3 THE BEST
#4 too many quotes (too busy)
#5 too stylized, busy & difficult to read title from across the room (important why selling in a brick and mortar store)
#6 Even busier & too much black + still hard to read
#7 too plain-except for word “photo” this could be a book of cheap poetry.
#8 better than 7 but nowhere near as good as #3.

    #7 with #8 as a close second.

    definitely #8.
I wouldn’t pick it up if it was the other covers – the picture doesn’t appeal to me/is off-putting. ;-]
    {or maybe Red cover#1 – but done in black, like #8}

  • Carlos Querales says:

    Cover #6

I vote for minimalist #7 for 1st choice and 2nd choice would be red cover #2
