Santa Fe Photographic Workshops
Santa Fe Photographic Workshops has just posted their schedule for Spring 2009. This is the schedule only; individual course descriptions should be available by the end of September. I’ve taken a number of workshops at Santa Fe and have always had a great experience. If you are looking to take a workshop with guys like Joe McNally or Jay Maisel, register today. Their classes always fill up quickly. If you wait for the actual catalog to be published, your favorite course may be filled already. Santa Fe has a stable of great instructors that return every year to teach. They’ve also added a flock of new, yet equally great, names to their faculty (Michael Britt is a personal favorite as his High-Volume Digital Workflow seminars always speak to my inner-geek), To stay in touch with SFPW, subscribe to their e-newsletter and their blog.

Jay Maisel NYC Workshops

Jay Maisel has announced three new workshop dates for 2008. Definitely not for the feint of heart - emotionally or financially. The nine attendees at each session “should expect five solid days (from 9:00am to 10:00pm) of shooting, discussing, eating, and breathing photography with Jay at this home”. The cost $5,000. George Jardine Lightroom Podcasts
If you could be a fly on the wall and listen in on intimate conversations with Jay Maisel, Pete Turner, Jerry Uelsmann or Richard Benson, would you be interested? Then tune in to George Jardine’s podcasts published under the boring title “Adobe Photoshop Lightroom”. One of the great windfall’s of Adobe’s efforts to promote Lightroom is that George, as Adobe’s Pro Evangelist, has traveled the country and published dozens of his conversations with pro shooters – both iconic and not-so-iconic. [July 1 Update: George bids farewell to his friends at Adobe. Read the post on his blog here.]
You’ll hear photographers talk about their work, the ups and downs of their careers and where they think photography is headed. The podcasts are free. Many are enhanced podcasts with photos of the interview and/or the photographer’s work. [Read more →]
